KCC Silicone’s Daejuk plant receives ‘Fire Commissioner Award’ marking the 63rd Firefighter’s Day 2025-11-13

“Recognition of organized safety management and spread of community safety culture”

Jiyuk Jung, CSO (Chief Safety Officer) of KCC Silicone received a Fire Commissioner Award, marking the 63rd Firefighter’s day (Nov 9th, 2025).

This honor is attributable to organized safety management and relentless promotion of fire prevention activities prioritizing safety on high-risk chemical industry sites.

Each and every EHS member at KCC Silicone established a sophisticated hazard assessment and a prevention-centered EHS (Environment/Health/Safety) management system for chemical-handling industry sites surrounded by potential hazardous factors under the supervision of CSO Jung. Building upon the system, the team strove to solidify a safety culture on sites on top of maintaining a zero-accident workplace which allows zero major accidents including fire/explosion/leakage within the past 5 years. Furthermore, joint fire drills and safety inspections were conducted on a regular basis along with actively driving Fire Administration Development Committee. This was buttressed by close cooperation with local fire stations and relevant institutions which led to enhanced safety culture across the community and reinforced disaster response capabilities.

CSO Jiyuk Jung at KCC Silicone EHS, expressing his gratitude upon receiving the award, said that “This award is the result of everyone’s dedication at KCC Silicone and I vow to continue putting my utmost efforts to build a ‘Safe workplace for people and the environment centering around the worksite’”. KCC Silicone will spare no effort in strengthening enterprise-wide safety management and continuing sustainable EHS innovation activities in a bid to realize ‘zero-accident’ and spread community safety culture.
