Creating value from silicone

KCC Silicone will host its cosmetics ingredients seminar event, ‘KCC Beauty Day in China 2025’, from September 8 to 12, 2025, in Guangzhou and Shanghai, with major players in the Chinese cosmetics industry.

This will be the second “KCC Beauty Day” event held in China, following last year. While last year’s focus was on silicone products for sun care, this year’s event will align with Chinese market trends by spotlighting makeup-related products. KCC Silicone will introduce its latest products and a variety of specialty silicone offerings unique to the company.

Through its proactive marketing efforts, KCC Silicone has built strong partnerships with numerous Chinese cosmetics companies. At this year’s events in Guangzhou and Shanghai, more than 300 participants from over 150 companies, including China’s No. 1 cosmetics company Proya, are expected to attend and experience KCC Beauty.

Featured strategic products will include SeraSense AG 21, an undecyl glyceryl-modified silicone fluid and SeraSilk PDA 90, a silicone gel blend mixed with silica, free from microplastic regulations.

Korean makeup products have recently gained global popularity for their excellent long-lasting wear and glossy finish. In response to this trend, KCC Silicone has launched SeraSense AG 21.

This product (Bis-C16-18 Alkyl Glyceryl Undecyl Dimethicone) is a silicone fluid with a pendant-type glyceryl undecyl group, offering both hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties. The hydrophilic component helps stabilize pigments, improving pigment dispersion and imparting a subtle glow, while the hydrophobic part forms a thin layer on the skin to prevent moisture loss and enhance color longevity. The gives a vibrant, glowing complexion with strong adherence and a non-sticky, fresh feel.

In addition, to address growing concerns about microplastics, KCC Silicone launched SeraSilk PDA 90 as an alternative to spherical silicone elastomer powders.

This product (Dimethicone, Silica, Polysilicone-11) is made using natural-origin spherical silica (not classified as microplastic) and an amorphous silicone gel blend, uniquely formulated with KCC’s proprietary technology.

It combines the powdery and soft finish of silica with the moist, smooth adherence of Polysilicone-11 gel, resulting in a distinctive and pleasing user experience.

Other specialty makeup products to be showcased include SPF-boosting products like SeraSoft SW 74 and SeraSilk EL 31, which have continued to receive positive feedback at international exhibitions such as In-Cosmetics 2025 and Silicone film formers like SeraSense RB 25 and SeraSense AW 61, which help improve makeup longevity and film formation.

In China’s highly demanding makeup market — which values high functionality, long wear, and excellent texture — these KCC Beauty silicone ingredients are expected to significantly enhance performance, feel, and functionality in cosmetic formulations.
