Creating value from silicone

KCC Silicone has won the Gold Award in the functional ingredients category at the ‘Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award’ during In-Cosmetics Korea 2025, held at COEX in Seoul.

The winning product is Harmonie™ NatuVel Gel.

This ingredient is a 100% naturally derived silicone elastomer jointly developed by KCC Silicone and global silicone specialist Momentive Korea, following their official merger in January 2025. It has garnered attention as an innovative material that combines sustainability with a luxurious sensory experience.

The ‘Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award’ recognizes newly launched cosmetic ingredients released within the past eight months. Divided into efficacy and functional ingredient categories, the award evaluates innovation, functionality, and formulation compatibility to honor the most outstanding ingredient.

Unlike traditional natural oils or waxes, Harmonie™ NatuVel Gel offers a soft, silky silicone elastomer feel without stickiness or greasiness. It boasts excellent blurring effects, skin adhesion, and a sensorially pleasing finish. Furthermore, it demonstrates superior compatibility with a wide range of cosmetic components, including UV filters, offering both formulation flexibility and stability—making it a high-performance ingredient.

Previously, in May, KCC Silicone participated in a technical seminar (Exhibitor Technology Forum) at CITE JAPAN 2025 in Yokohama. There, the company presented on “Applications of Silicone for Achieving the Sensory Textures of K-Beauty,” highlighting its vision for sensorial formulation development and the potential of silicone elastomers.
