European ELVR Regulation – A Mega Trend in the Automotive Industry
ELVR (End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation) is a new eco-friendly vehicle recycling regulation being promoted by the European Union (EU), which
mandates progressively increased vehicle recycling rates starting in 2030.
This regulation specifies the ease of component separation, management of harmful substances, and recovery rates of raw materials during vehicle dismantling. It is driving technological innovation among global automotive and parts companies.
Hyundai Motor Group is also actively responding to the ELVR regulation, and is working with parts suppliers to strengthen recyclability and transition to eco-friendly designs.
